Lluís Ribas (ElMasnou, Barcelona,1949) is a Spanish painter whose large-format and hyper-realistic paintings reflect above all the beauty of women framed in nature, preferably in the sea, although his portraits of Maghreb society are also excellent.
He studied until he was 18 years old at the prestigious Escola Massana de Barcelona, where he had as teachers Nel.lo, Noé and Parramón, among others. However, he discovered painting much earlier, when he was only nine years old, by the hand of the artist José María Martínez. In addition to directing photonovels and comic book magazines, he worked as an illustrator, photographer and graphic designer before, since 1975, devoting himself exclusively to painting.
