Description
Realistic painting in acrylic of American filmmakers and brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, portrayed with one of their biggest film successes No Country For Old Man in the background, painted by artist Paul Meijering - the original painting is 90 x 120 cm and available for sale.
Joel and Ethan Coen, also known as The Coen Brothers, are an American filmmaking duo, best known for quirky post-modern crime comedies like Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski, and Burn After Reading, and neo noir films like Blood Simple, Fargo, The Man Who Wasn't There, and No Country For Old Men. In the film world, the brothers are also known as the "two-headed director" because they usually work very closely together and share the same ideas about how their films should look.
The brothers direct, produce and write their own films, with Joel generally directing in their earlier films and Ethan producing each film. However, since The Ladykillers, the brothers have done both directing and producing together for every film. They have also edited almost all of their films themselves. In doing so, both brothers go by the pseudonym "Roderick Jaynes" (later changed to: Roderick Jayenheart).
Joel Coen was born on November 29, 1954 in St. Louis Park, a suburb of Minneapolis. He has been married to actress Frances McDormand since 1984 and together they have an adopted son named Pedro. Ethan Coen was born on September 21, 1957, also in St. Louis Park.
