Émile Friant (Dieuze, April 16, 1863 - Paris, June 6, 1932) was a French painter.
Friant exhibited with others at the Paris Salon. From 1923 until the day of his death, he was a professor at the École des Beaux-Arts. He was awarded the cross of the Legion of Honor and was a member of the Institut de France. In 1932 Friant died suddenly at the age of 69.
In 2006, French writer Philippe Claudel wrote the novella Au revoir Monsieur Friant, about his childhood memories using paintings by Friant.
