Realistic acrylic painting of the American painter Robert C. Jackson with one of his still life artworks, all painted by the Dutch fine artist Paul Meijering - the original painting is 90 x 120 cm.

Robert Coleman Jackson (born October 17, 1964) is an American painter and author based in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. He is known for his realistic still life paintings.

Jackson graduated in 1986 from the University of Delaware with a BS degree in electrical engineering. As an elective during his senior year in college, Jackson took his first painting class. From 1986 to 1990 he worked at Motorola as a systems engineer and designed radio systems. He was an assistant pastor for Cedar Ridge Community Church in the Washington DC suburbs from 1990 to 1996. He has been working full-time as an artist since 1996. Jackson was the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science's 2012 artist-in-residence.

For almost 33 years now, Paul Meijering has been active with the paint brushes. As a 17- year old inspired youngster he joined the Academy of Arts in Enschede (Holland) in order to receive a native training in drawing- and painting technique. At that time (1980) the tendency of the abstract was running riot, and to his dismay and disappointment Paul found that the trade of the ancient masters was merely 'old hat', the realistic art being disregarded and looked down upon. After two years of useless botchery, there was only one conclusion to draw: "get autodidact, be a self-taught person!" Paul then left the academy to work for a living, but at the back of his mind there always loomed the passion of his life: to paint. At his spare time...
