Description
Realistic acrylic painting of the photographer Zhang Jingna, painted by the Dutch fine artist Paul Meijering - the original painting is 120 x 90 cm.
Zhang Jingna (Born 4 May 1988 in Beijing) is a Chinese-born Singaporean photographer commonly known as "zemotion." Her works have appeared on multiple editions of Vogue, Elle and Harper's Bazaar.
Zhang was born in the suburbs of Beijing to a sporty family. At the age of 8, she moved to Singapore, where she attended Haig Girls' School.
Zhang pursued a degree in fashion design at LASALLE College of the Arts. She picked up photography there as a hobby when she was 18. Probably because of her keen interest and achievements with the medium, she left Lasalle, as well as her sports career in air rifle, to pursue photography full-time in 2008.
Zhang's clients included Mercedes Benz, Canon, Pond's, Ogilvy &; Mather Advertising and Wacom. She also produced fashion editorials for magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Elle.
In 2021, Zhang announced her decision to quit fashion photography, citing racism within the Western market.
In 2022, her portraits of actress Michelle Yeoh were featured for Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People and the cover photos for a profile for The Hollywood Reporter.
