Asterix is a character from the comic book series of the same name by French writer René Goscinny and cartoonist Albert Uderzo. He has the lead role in this series.
Asterix is the main protagonist of the series. He is a petite figure with blond hair and a blond moustache. Despite his short height, he is very smart and brave. He lives in a fictional Gaulish village in Armorica (Brittany) that was the only village in all of Gaul to resist the Romans.
Asterix is a bachelor and the best friend of the menhir hacker Obelix. Asterix was born on the same day as Obelix. He is known in his village as one of the smartest, bravest and most honourable among the inhabitants. Consequently, he is often assigned the dangerous and exotic missions.
René Goscinny (Paris, 14 August 1926 - there, 5 November 1977) was a French writer, humorist and scriptwriter of comic strips. He is best known for his scripts for the Asterix and Lucky Luke series.
Alberto Aleandro Uderzo (Fismes, 25 April 1927 - Neuilly-sur-Seine, 24 March 2020) was a French cartoonist and comic scenarist best known for the comic strip Asterix.
